阻尼矩阵对角化的评述

摘 要: 首先介绍了最简单阻尼——比例阻尼,包括定义、物理意义和比例系数的确定方法。其次,回顾了阻尼矩阵可对角化的充要条件、证明及其应用限制。然后,总结了工程上采用近似对角处理化的依据。最后给出了由模态阻尼矩阵计算物理系统阻尼矩阵的公式。

Title: Remarks on diagonalizing damping matrices

Abstract: Regarding to mechanical vibration courses, students are generally frustrated with various damping models and damping terms. To alleviate this frustration, the damping terms involved in decoupling the ordinary differential equations for multiple degree-of-freedoms are remarked systematically. The most simple model—proportional damping is introduced first, including the definition, physical meaning and method to determining the proportional coefficients. Then the if-and-only-if conditions for damping matrix diagonalization are reviewed, along with its proving procedure and the application limitation. What follows are the principles underlying the brutal diagonalization of damping matrices—zero the off-diagonal elements of modal damping matrices. Finally, the formula transforming the modal damping coefficients into the physical damping matrixes is presented.
