PAN基碳纤维表面电荷性质与其分散行为的关系

摘 要: 通过测定乳液表面张力、接触角和碳纤维的分散量确定脂肪醇聚氧乙烯醚磷酸盐(AEPK)处理聚丙烯腈(PAN)基碳纤维的最佳浓度和吸附量分别为0.5%和4.0 mg/g. 随后利用法拉第筒对改性前后碳纤维的表面电荷量进行定量分析;通过场发射扫描电子显微镜(field emission scanning electron microscope,FESEM)、X射线光电子能谱(X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,XPS)表征改性前后碳纤维的表面形貌和表面基团的变化。结果表明,未改性的碳纤维表面电荷为正电荷,随着AEPK 吸附量的增加,碳纤维表面负电性增加,当表面电荷量达到最大时,短切碳纤维在环氧树脂基体中达到最佳的分散效果。证明碳纤维表面电荷性质与其分散行为的变化趋势一致,可以通过测量碳纤维的表面电荷量简便而直观地判断碳纤维在基体中的分散能力。

Abstract: The optimum concentration and adsorption amount of AEPK modifying PAN-based carbon fibers were decided of 0.5% and 4.0 mg/g respectively according to surface tension, contact angle and dispersion volume of carbon fibers. In addition, the surface charges of modified carbon fibers were quantitatively analyzed by using Faraday cup. The surface morphology and surface groups of modified carbon fibers were investigated by using field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results show that the positive charges on the unmodified carbon fibers surface are changed to negative with the increase of AEPK adsorption amount. Optimal dispersion effect of the short carbon fibers in epoxy matrix can be achieved when the surface charges reach the maximum, which proves that the same variation regularity is obtained of surface charge properties of carbon fiber and its dispersion behavior. Finally, the results further illustrate that the ability of carbon fibers dispersing in the matrix can be judged by measuring the surface charges of carbon fibers conveniently and apparently.
