三维颈动脉超声图像中斑块的纹理特征分析

摘 要: 基于三维颈动脉超声图像,提出两种三维纹理特征的提取方法,并用于评估颈动脉粥样硬化的治疗效果。实验从28例颈动脉粥样硬化病人中获取三维颈动脉超声图像,其中测试组14例病人每日服用80 mg的atorvastatin,对照组14例病人每日服用80 mg安慰剂。医生手工标记共获得38个斑块,通过计算每个斑块在用药3个月后的三维纹理特征变化以评估用药效果。实验计算的测试组和对照组两类的类间距离(distance between classes,DBC)、秩和检验(Wilcoxon rank sum test,WRS)分别为20.636、0.014 6. 最后,采用支持向量机(support vector machine,SVM)对两组进行分类,精确度、准确性、敏感度和特异性分别为88.2%、84.4%、83.3%、85.7%. 因此,三维超声图像纹理特征分析对颈动脉斑块易损性描述以及用药治疗后的效果评价具有重要价值。

Title: Texture feature analysis of carotid artery plaques based on three-dimensional ultrasound images

Abstract: Two three-dimensional (3D) texture feature analysis methods were proposed to assess the therapeutic effect of carotid atherosclerotic based on 3D ultrasound images of carotid artery. In the experiments, 3D ultrasound images of carotid artery were acquired from 28 carotid atherosclerotic patients. 38 plaques were manually segmented by experts, which were acquired from 14 patients treated with atorvastatin of 80 mg daily and 14 patients with placebo of 80 mg daily for 3 months. Distance between classes (DBC) and Wilcoxon rank sum test (WRS) were applied to analyze the changes of 3D texture feature of each plaque between baseline and 3 months later, which were 20.636, 0.014 6 respectively. Using support vector machine (SVM) classifier, the precision, accuracy, sensitivity and specificity were 88.2%, 84.4%, 83.3%, 85.7%, respectively. Thus, it suggests that texture feature analysis based on 3D ultrasound images can be used effectively to describe the surface characteristics of carotid plaques vulnerability and evaluate the impact of the treatment.
