侧边界条件对大气流动稳定度的影响

摘 要: 在研究大气大尺度流动的稳定度时,通常使用通道模式,即在南北向不同的纬度处放置2个垂直刚性壁,流体被限制在此刚壁中流动。在过去的研究中,通常使用在刚壁处地转流的法向分量为零的边界条件。研究将此边界条件修改为在南北刚壁处,实际流动的法向分量为零,并利用标准模的方法,对大尺度流动的稳定度进行再分析,得到了新的正压、斜压和混合正压-斜压流动的稳定度判据。结果表明:边界处的流动状况和扰动结构均对稳定度产生影响。此结果与经典理论不同。在经典判据中,水平侧边界处的基本流动和扰动结构对稳定度不产生影响。

Title: Effects of lateral boundary conditions on the stability of the atmospheric flow

Abstract: A channel model was usually chosen in the study on the stability problems of the large-scale atmospheric flow, in which the flow was confined by two vertical rigid walls located at different latitudes. In the past, the boundary conditions at the two walls were that the normal component of the geostrophic flow vanished. In this paper, the boundary conditions at the walls are modified to be that the normal component of actual flow vanishes. The new boundary conditions combined with the normal mode method are used to re-study the stability of the large-scale atmospheric flow and new criteria for instability for the barotropic, baroclinic or mixed barotropic-baroclinic flow. It is shown that the status of both the basic flow and the perturbations at the walls may influence the stability of the atmospheric flow, which differs from the classical stability theory where the stability of the flow has nothing to do with the status of the basic flow and perturbations at the walls.
