网购快递服务商竞争均衡和效率损失

摘 要: 研究网络快递服务商竞争均衡及由竞争带来的社会效率损失。描述网购快递服务具有的拥塞效应特性和消费者选择依据的综合成本,构建快递服务商价格竞争的二层均衡模型,下层为消费者选择的Wardrop均衡,上层为快递服务商竞争的Nash均衡。研究证明了快递服务商之间Nash均衡的存在性,并提出快递服务商自利竞争带来的社会福利效率损失概念。对该效率损失进行分析发现:与集中决策相比,分散决策带来了效率损失,并且效率损失与消费者偏好无关,与延迟时间函数的不对称性有关。

Abstract: This paper studies the pricing and capacity investment oligopoly competition of express service providers in the online shopping industry. A bi-level equilibrium problem with equilibrium constraints model is formulated with the low level Wardrop equilibrium between consumers and the upper level Nash equilibrium between express service providers. We prove that there exists Nash equilibrium in the upper level oligopoly competition. To quantify the inefficiency of the oligopolistic equilibrium via high full price and insufficient investment, we propose a measure of the ratio of the social cost between the competitive equilibrium and the social optimum. Based on the analysis, we find that, compared with the centralized decision making, the decentralized decision-making has brought efficiency loss. Furthermore, the efficiency loss is not related with the consumer preferences while it is correlated with the asymmetry of delay time function.
