功能单体设计合成及其对木材性能的改善

摘 要: 为解决木材因天然多孔结构而致使力学性能差的问题,利用甲基丙烯酸缩水甘油酯(GMA)和聚乙二醇-400(PEG-400)设计合成了一种新型功能性单体(GMAPEGDMA),并结合GMA,对木材细胞腔孔隙结构进行原位聚合改性。研究结果表明,功能性单体组合在木材孔隙内原位聚合填充,且与木材组分发生化学 键合,聚合物与木材界面结合充分,得到的木材−聚合物复合材料的抗弯强度、抗压强度和冲击韧性分别较木材素材提高了99%、106%和147%. 这种设计方法适用于所有树种木材的性能改良,是一种可规模化应用的普适方法。

Abstract: In order to solve the problem of poor mechanical properties of wood due to its natural porous structure, in this study, a novel functional monomer (GMAPEGDMA) is designed and synthesized using glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and polyethylene glycol-400 (PEG-400), which is combined with GMA to achieve in situ polymerization modification on pore structure of wood cell cavity. The results show that the functional monomer system can fill the wood pore by in situ polymerization, and chemically bond with the wood component, so that polymer can combine well with the wood interface. The bending strength, compression strength and impact toughness of the obtained wood-polymer composites are significantly increased by 99%, 106%, 147% over untreated wood, respectively. This design method is suitable for the improvement of mechanical performance of all tree species and it provides the possibility for large-scale application.
