可见光通信光OFDM技术的性能评估

摘 要: | 首先分析了3种典型的用于可见光通信(visible light communication,VLC)的光正交频分复用(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing,OFDM)技术——基于直流偏置的光正交频分复用(DC-biased optical OFDM,DCO-OFDM)、非对称裁剪的光正交频分复用(asymmetrically clipped optical OFDM,ACO-OFDM)以及分层非对称裁剪的光正交频分复用(layered asymmetrically clipped optical OFDM,LACO-OFDM)的原理、系统模型以及各自的优势和劣势,然后将它们与物理下行共享信道(physical downlink shared channel,PDSCH)的完整流程结合进行链路级仿真,客观评估其性能并进行横向对比。通过仿真验证,在码率和发射信号的平均功率相同时,ACO-OFDM的信噪比(signal-to-noise ratio,SNR)-误块率(block error rate,BLER)性能与DCO-OFDM基本接近,但DCO-OFDM需要额外消耗功率保证信号为正数,ACO-OFDM的频谱利用率较低。相比ACO-OFDM,LACO-OFDM通过分层提高了频谱利用率,但由于各层之间的干扰,层数越多,系统的BLER性能越差。因此,需要综合考虑在具体的应用场景下VLC系统对频谱利用率、功率利用率以及BLER性能的要求,选择合适的光OFDM调制方案。 |

Abstract: | Three typical optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technologies used in visible light communication (VLC), DC-biased optical OFDM (DCO-OFDM), asymmetrically clipped optical OFDM (ACO-OFDM) and layered asymmetrically clipped optical OFDM (LACO-OFDM) are studied. Their principles, system models, and respective advantages and disadvantages are first analyzed, then they are combined with the complete process of physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) to perform link-level simulation, and their performance is objectively evaluated and compared with each other. Through the simulation, it is verified that the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)-block error rate (BLER) performance of DCO-OFDM and ACO-OFDM is basically similar at the same code rate and average power of the transmitted signal. However, DCO-OFDM requires extra power consumption to ensure the signal is positive, while ACO-OFDM has a lower frequency utilization rate. Compared with ACO-OFDM, LACO-OFDM improves the frequency utilization rate through stratification. However, due to the interference among layers, the more the layers, the worse the BLER performance of the system. Therefore, it is necessary to select an appropriate optical OFDM modulation scheme by comprehensively considering the frequency utilization rate, power utilization and BLER performance requirements of VLC system in specific application scenarios. |
